In the construction of solar farms specialists from civil engineering, installation and electrical engineering are required. The procedure is the following:
The ground area is first prepared.
This means that greater ground unevenness is leveled. If disturbing vegetation or building remains are present, they should be removed.
A common design is the foundation by piling sections (usually made of steel C125, galvanized). A soil analysis will determine the nature of the soil. Thus, the structural requirements of the site to be determined. They decide on the length of the piling sections to be used. Specialised companies with sophisticated robotic equipment fit the support structure in the ground.
After, the support structure is mounted, the modules can be fitted and fixed.
The modules are placed in rows first in line with wiring connection where the voltage sum and polarity of each row is tested. Each module is grounded according to manufacturer`s information and final parallel connection of each row is connected. Each row/string is then connected to string inverter while all the parallel rows output is connected to a centralised inverter, which converts DC voltage produced to AC grid voltage.
